Planning Checklist!
Six months
to one year before trip:
--Sign up for dates for camp facilities.
--Sign and return contract.
Four months before trip:
--Publish your camp dates early for both parents and students
information.
--Arrange for transportation ... buses, cars, departure and
pick-up times.
Two months before trip:
--Arrange for Pre-Camp meeting between your school and a camp
representative.
--Decide on your goals for the students.
--Organize funds/collect fees from individual students.
--Arrange for parents/adults who can be cabin chaperones.
--Prepare you lesson materials to be taught at camp. (Be sure
to ask ify ou would like lesson plans sent from the camp.)
One month to one week before trip:
--"Bring along" list to students. (1 month)
--Discuss trip goals and behavior with students. (1 month)
--Health forms and releases to parents. (1 month)
--Create schedule with the EE Director. (1 month)
--Make arrangements for an Emergency Vehicle. (2 weeks)
--Finalize number of staff and students attending. (2 weeks)
--Final confirmation of arrangements. (via phone with EE Director
2 weeks)
--Organize students into trail and cabin groups. (1 week)
--Schedules to students, parents, and staff. (1 week)
Before you leave school:
--Check bus schedule for return trip.
--Count students and staff.
Bring the following papers along:
--list of students organized into trail/cabin groups (copies
for our program staff)
--every student's health form and release.
