RESIDENT SUMMER COUNSELOR:

If you have answered yes to any of these questions, and love working with all age groups then you may be just what we are looking for here at Lutheran Memorial Camp. (LMC) We are looking to hire self-motivated Christian young adults between 18 and 101 who love working outdoors, playing games, leading Bible studies, and sharing their amazing faith with others. You will also go out a couple times during the summer to experience the joy of day camp.

Along with counselors, there are many other roles in summer camp. Maybe you’d make a great Lifeguard, or a naturalist sharing your gift of awareness within 417 acres of beach/maple forest. You might even be an aspiring artist who would love to help children discover the hidden little artist inside of their little hearts through arts and crafts. There are so many ways to be a part of The L.M.C. AMAZING GRACE DAY CAMPS:

Sponsored by the Southern Ohio Synod of the ELCA, and LOMO, these week-long day camps go into the Appalachia and Inner City areas of southern Ohio. They support ELCA congregations in financially strapped areas to minister to the community in which it belongs. Many of the children served through this program are raising themselves, as their parents are working two jobs or absent from the home for much of the time. Providing a key role model in their lives is important. But most importantly, this program provides a way to introduce or build upon experiences with Christ's love.

Counselors or team coordinators for these programs are as important to their success as counselors are in camp. The pace of the week is different, and the staff stay with host families nearby. The rewards of working with this population are astronomical! Sign up for 9 weeks of Amazing Grace or rotate through for a week or two as an in camp counselor. FALL-WINTER-SPRING:

Lutheran memorial camp isn’t just a summer camp experience. For those of you who are looking for more experience in Outdoor Ministries might consider Environmental Education (EE), Retreat Ministries or Support Positions.

LMC has a wonderful EE program with a long track record, reaching out to over 60 public and parochial schools throughout Ohio. LMC’s EE staff and program assist teachers with their science, math, social studies, language arts, and other Ohio proficiency needs.

Retreat Ministry (RM) is offered on weekends throughout the year. Some programs are offered by LMC staff, and others are provided by the groups attending. RM staff are trained in leadership and hospitality. Often the EE and RM staff are one and the same.
