We create a place for all to
live out the Gospel of
Jesus Christ as we explore God’s Creation.
It is
my pleasure to introduce you to a virtual expression of Lutheran
Memorial Camp, a part of Lutheran Outdoor Ministries in Ohio. The
programs and people you will see in this website are integral parts of
the ministry we provide. LMC began as a summer youth camp in 1948 and
has grown to offer year-round program opportunities for children,
adults, families, congregations and schools.
Several aspects of LMC’s
ministry permeate the programs we offer:
The first is Christian
love. Relationships with campers, with Creation, and with God
are important enough that 100% of our program time is spent nurturing
them. They are found in classes, Bible studies, swimming, sitting
around a campfire, or as the lights go out when day is done. There is a
campership fund available to make sure that no one is turned away due
to financial hardship. Everyone is welcome.
The second is the call
to be good stewards of the land and of resources. During
summer and retreat programs we offer opportunities to listen, to feel,
to watch, to experience the world around us during enrichment times.
Public, Christian, and private schools utilizing LMC’s Environmental
Education program build classes around many natural concepts.
Educators live at camp and lead students in classes, which meet many of
Ohio’s educational proficiencies. There is even an organic garden
program to demonstrate sustainable techniques.***,
The third is providing
a hospitable atmosphere within which the first two aspects
can take place. LMC has a well-maintained facility, which is American
Camp Association accredited. The food is camper tested and considerate
of dietary needs. Program staff are trained in CPR and First Aid for
camper safety. Hospitality begins at the first contact with office and
continues with all staff.
Thank you for checking Lutheran
Memorial Camp’s website. Take advantage of the forms, schedules and
maps available. Please provide us with feedback so it can improve.

LMC honors and respects others in our church/state relationship with
schools. We are a church camp who welcomes public schools, while
maintaining a respectful affirmation of church/state matters in the
public school setting. For Christian schools, we offer an atmosphere
for sharing and tying classes with Biblical concepts. Different
denominational devotion, worship, and study styles are supported and
respected by the staff.
